Micro Automations
We've adjusted to the new way of rapid prototyping and development. In addition to the Business Analysis 2.0 concept, we like to offer Micro Automations. A quick, low risk, high value product and service for small business to make their operation faster, less error prone, and more consistent. Without significant extra investments or effort. Through rapid process and workflow automation, and maximally leverage AI whenever possible.
What is it?
A Micro Automation is a task or a set of tasks that handles repetitive, time consuming, yet important tasks that are eating up your time. Think of: Processing invoices, handling the customer journey, log and classify support tickets, automatically answer common questions (e.g. "Where is my stuff?"), Create or Update a Dashboard, etc.
Think of these as little workflows that are currently done manually, and would free up time if an automation would take care of it, or handle 90% of the manual work, and present the result as a simple item list, ready for final approval. You can save hours or days a week with a couple of simple automated processes that take care of some of the most repetitive tasks.
As a quick summary of the product and how we offer it:
- Dedicated automations that perform a specific task, or a set of tasks (process invoices, respond to customer journey, log and classify support tickets, automatically answer common questions, create or update a dashboard, etc.)
- Dedicated automations that run on command or at a specific time
- Automations that can utilise Agentic AI, or run as a 'standard' workflow
- Automations are standalone and integrate with your existing systems
- You fully own them, no subscriptions or hidden components
- You can update, expand or change them to your liking if your process changes
- Easy point & click maintenance to change or expand
Most automations can be delivered as a proof of concept. Meaning you have zero or very minimal cost to get up and running. And if you're not 100% satisfied with the result, nothing is lost.
Where's the value?
Aside from the hours saved and reduced fall out, what are some specific benefits of the way we offer Micro Automations, as compared to for instance an established 'big brand' platform like Microsoft, Hubspot or Salesforce?
- No vendor lock-in
- No subscriptions
- Full control over when they run, and how they run
- Add AI functionality from the start, or later along the way fully customisable
- Easy to maintain and control in-house, without expert staff
- No changes required in your existing systems
In general: You own it! And so you can change, modify, expand whatever you like about the product. Once you've taken ownership, there are absolutely no strings attached to keep the automation running. If you'd like us to handle and maintain the automation for you, no problem, we can. This is always optional.
How does it work?
A bit more detail about our way of working and how the solution is implemented. First and foremost an industry expert will analyse the problem and the process you currently have in place. From there we rapidly prototype the 'core' automation and test it with real data that we received. Once it's working as desired, you're invited for a joint review of the automation and the test results. We hand over access to the automation, and set it up to run as requested. You can use the automation to test its performance and evaluate if all your goals have been met.
- Satisfied? Great! We'll set up the automation for you and hand over the keys.
- Changed your mind, or no longer need it? No problem and no bill.
It's as simple as that.
Technical details
What does the solution look like? We develop Micro Automations on the N8N platform, an open sourced, public, low code automation and integration platform. It can be hosted on most conventional hosting providers, or in-house if so desired.
In case the platform requires extensive user-focussed processes (think of workflows for customer service staff, etc.) we can provide a web application layer on top of the N8N automation to facilitate the various UI flows. In these scenarios the automation becomes more of a web application, where we can provide user access management and screen flows. In general we recommend starting small, and getting maximum return on your automation.
When the Micro Automations become more elaborate or bigger it's a relatively easy task to include them in a relevant web application. The automations stay where they are, and need only minimal adjustments to embed them in a web application, so there's no double work.
